Working Matters: Breaking down the barriers to employment for disabled New Zealanders and better supporting people into work.

Consultation on the draft Disability Employment Action Plan is open from 25 November and will run until 21 February 2020.

The Government has developed a draft action plan specifically for disabled people and people with health conditions because they often face barriers to getting and staying in work.

Previous consultation and research on employment for disabled people and people with health conditions was used to create the draft action plan, and the Ministry of Social Development is now checking whether the draft action plan has the right actions to improve outcomes for disabled people and people with health conditions.

The draft action plan in a range of formats can be found on the MSD website , along with a summary if you don’t want to read the whole document. The website also has information on different ways you can give feedback.
