Text description of Figure 2 Principles and Approaches

This figure shows the principles and approaches of the Strategy on a single page.

The page has a diagram and two titles. The title at the top of the page says principles. The title at the bottom of the page says approaches.

There is a diagram in the middle of the page. The diagram is made up of five overlapping circles. They are overlapping because they are all equally important. One circle is in the centre and at the forefront. Four circles sit behind it with two at the top and two below.

The centre circle has the words 'ensuring disabled people are involved in decision-making that impacts them'. This is one of the principles of the Strategy.

The top two circles are the other principles of the Strategy. The circle to the left has the words 'Te Tiriti o Waitangi' and the circle to the right has the words 'Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities'.

The two bottom circles are the approaches of the Strategy. The circle to the left has the words 'a whole-of-life and long-term approach to social investment'. The circle to the right has the words ‘specific and mainstream supports and services – a twin-track approach’.
