12. DPA Leadership Development Forums.
Disabled Persons Assembly (DPA) has received funding from Te Pou (Ministry of Health) for the provision of Consumer Leadership and Training.
The Auckland Forum is on 28 - 29 August 2010. Expressions of interest are sought from disabled people who are either already members of DPA or from those interested in joining DPA.
This initiative is being undertaken to enable DPA to build organisational capacity and foster leadership, both within DPA and the wider community.

13: Working with the Whanau Ora Tool – Napier Event.
Health Promotion Forum is running a meeting in Napier on 30 August introducing the Whanau Ora tool and how to use it. The tool is a practical guide to developing health programmes where whanau, hapu, iwi and Maori communities play a leading role.
14: Accessible Tourism Conference.
The first New Zealand Conference on accessible tourism, travel, and hospitality for people with disabilities and seniors will be held on 4 October 2010.
Topics being covered are the current situation in New Zealand and worldwide, website access and information best practice, government strategy, policy, and obligations, best practice in transport, accommodation, and attractions access.
This one day conference is organized by the New Zealand Tourism Research Institute, Auckland University of Technology, Auckland New Zealand.
15: National Disability Conference December 2010.
The Health and Disability Commissioner is hosting a National Disability Conference on 6 December 2010 for disabled people, their family, friends and wider networks. The theme is "Making it Easy to Speak Up".
