15: Health Promotion Forum of New Zealand Symposium 1- 2 July 2010

The theme of the Forum is Whanau Ora Tamariki Ora - The Wellbeing of Families and Children. The venue is Brentwood Hotel, Kilbirnie, Wellington.

The Forum is able to offer a limited number of scholarships to this year's Symposium.  Applications close 31st May.

16: People First New Zealand forums

People First NZ are holding forums on "Living with the legacy of institutionalisation". You will hear the stories of four people with learning disabilities who moved from institutions into the community.

17: Round Table on Information Access for People with Print Disabilities Conference

The Round Table on Information Access for People with Print Disabilities Conference is being held in Auckland, Sunday 23 - 25 May 2010. The Round Table is a trans-tasman organisation involving organisations such as accessible format producers, libraries, educators and consumer groups. This year's programme includes topics on human rights and disability policy, audio description, and Braille development and research.

18: NZ Federation of Disability Information Centres National Training Conference

The NZ Federation of Disability Information Centres has announced that registration is now open for its National Training Conference. The theme for the conference is "RD 2010 - Rural Delivery of Disability Information Services in 2010 and beyond". It will look at effective and innovative ways to deliver information services to rural communities or hard to reach geographical areas. The conference is on Monday 17 -18 May 2010 in Queenstown.

19: New Zealand Federation of Vocational and Support Services Conference 23-24 June 2010

The New Zealand Federation of Vocational and Support Services (VASS) is holding their national conference in Auckland on 23-24 June 2010. Registrations are now open. The conference theme is "Allies and Collaborators" and will explore building community networks, opportunities for collaboration and looking at ways providers can better support the people they serve. Keynote speakers include Michael Kendrick (USA), Heather Simmons (Australia), Phil Ramsey and Di Jennings (NZ). VASS is an umbrella group for over 70 organisations involved in providing disability support services.

20: NZ Home Health Association Conference 2010

The New Zealand Home Health Association is the industry association for providers of home support services. The NZ Home Health Association Conference has a theme of "Dollars and Sense." The venue is Holiday Inn, Auckland Airport, 1 - 3 September 2010. Papers this year are on Elder Services, Standards/Quality/Audit, and Information Technology.

21: New Zealand Council of Social Services conference

New Zealand Council of Social Services (NZCOSS) is calling for abstracts for their national conference, which will be held in Dunedin 17-19 November 2010. The conference themes are "Family and Community Sustainability" and "Organisation and Sector Sustainability". There are options of making an address, running a workshop or a combination of the both. Abstracts must be received by Friday 2 July 2010.
