Funding round four announcement
Round 4 – NZSL Fund 2017/2018
The NZSL Board would like to announce round four of the NZSL Fund will open 1 February 2018 and close on 8 March 2018.
The theme for the 2017/18 NZSL funding round is “NZSL in our hands: Our language, our taonga, our identity, our past, our future”.
Every year the NZSL Board identifies priorities for the NZSL Fund that support the NZSL Board’s long-term planning designed to promote and maintain NZSL. For round four, the NZSL Board will be specifically looking for local and/or national initiatives (project, activities, and events) which are aligned with one or more of criteria below:
- Enable Deaf people to develop and/or maintain ‘Deaf spaces’, places where NZSL users gather to use NZSL either face-to-face or online.
- Enable Deaf people to develop their capability and capacity to maintain Deaf spaces.
- Research and/or documentation of NZSL that develops knowledge of NZSL for all NZSL users.
NB: It is a requirement that all NZSL initiatives do not duplicate or displace NZSL funding, services and resources which are, or should be, the responsibility of government agencies, state sectors and organisations.
Application guidelines and further information will be available at www.odi.govt.nz/nzsl on 1 February 2018.
