Progress In Implementing The NZ Disability Strategy 2002

The second progress report on implementation of the NZ Disability Strategy covers an initial 11 key government departments that submitted work plans for the period July 2001 to June 2002. Under the NZ Public Health and Disability Act 2000, the Minister for Disability Issues is required to report to Parliament by the end of each calender year on progress in implementating the NZ Disability Strategy. While the first work plans submitted by departments covered a 12 month period, in order to satisfy this legislative provision the first progress report only covered the three months from July to September 2001. Consequently, the second progress report covers the remaining nine months from October 2001 to June 2002.
