Progress Reports
Progress Reports for the following periods are available in this section:
Government departments and other agencies are expected to develop annual work plans that specify steps each agency will take to implement the NZ Disability Strategy. This annual planning process is required of all government departments. Other agencies are also invited to submit annual work plans.
At the end of each year covered by their work plans, agencies are required to prepare a report on how well they have achieved their goals.
The monitoring and reporting on the Strategy implementation is co-ordinated and supported by the Office for Disability Issues.
The Minister for Disability Issues reports to Parliament annually on progress in implementing the NZ Disability Strategy. This is a legal requirement under the NZ Public Health and Disability Act 2000. Copies of these progress reports are available in this section and can be downloaded in MS Word or PDF format.
As a consequence of this provision for reporting to Parliament by the end of each calender year, for the initial implementation work plans of 11 departments covering the period July 2001 to June 2002 there were two progress reports produced. In subsequent years there is only one progress report published.
